Description
Edward Borein (American, 1872-1945): Three Etchings Depicting Western Villages. As follows.House with High Chimney: Etching and drypoint, 10.375" x 6.75" (image), signed and titled in pencil in lower margin.
The Wooden Bridge in Taos: Etching, 9.75" x 5.75" (image), stamped with artist's signature lower right, titled in pencil lower left.
Navajo Visitors at Oraibi: Etching, 12.75" x 7.5" (image), stamped with artist's signature lower right, titled in pencil lower left.
Literature: J. Galvin, The Etchings of Edward Borein, San Francisco, California, 1971, No. 242, 243, and 210.
Condition Report*:
House with High Chimney is framed under glass to 14 x 18.75 inches and there appears to be light overall paper discoloration, toning along mat edges, and a tiny spot of staining at upper right edge. Not examined out of frame.
Navajo Visitors is framed under glass to 14.25 x 18.75 inches and there appears to be a few faint spots of discoloration, toning along mat edges, and the stamped signature appears to be reinforced with pencil. Not examined out of frame.
Bridge in Taos is framed under glass to 12.5 x 14.5 inches and there appears to be moderate overall paper discoloration. Not examined out of frame.
