Description

16 Gauge Hammer Double Barrel Shotgun by Ludwig Borovnick. Serial no. 9400, 16 gauge, 29-inch barrels later marked with maker's name. Matted flat rib with doll's head extension. Brush bright action with back action locks. Action and locks engraved with foliate scroll details. Checkered pistolgrip stock of well-figured walnut. Steel buttplate and grip cap. Sling eyes. Checkered splinter fore-end with lever release.
Data: Barrel Dimensions: Bores: 0.666/0.661-inches. Chokes: 0.007/0.018-inches (Improved Cylinder/Modified). Chambers: 2 3/4 inches. Minimum wall thickness: 0.028-inches. Proof: Austrian Nitro Reproof, 16/65. Stock Dimensions: Pull: 14 1/4-inches. Drop at comb: 1 3/8-inches. Drop at heel: 2 3/8-inches. Cast-off: 3/16-inches. Weight: 6 pounds, 5 ounces. (Note: Barrels are out of proof due to lengthened chambers). Condition: Excellent, as partially redone. Barrels show 99% reblued finish with some small areas of older pitting. Rib shows areas of losses to engraving and four filled holes. Excellent bright bores. Barrels/action show some looseness. Refinished stock shows very few light marks. Metal is proud above wood in most areas. Refreshed checkering. Fore-end shows a two inch interior crack.
