Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-26) "Return to Flight" Flown NASA Flag on Presentation Certificate. A 5.75" x 3.75" cloth flag bearing the seal of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration attached to an 11" x 14" color printed certificate with images of the takeoff and landing. Text reads: "Presented to Arthur J. Rogers. This National Aeronautics and Space Administration flag was flown aboard the Orbiter 'Discovery.' STS-26, September 29-October 3, 1988, commemorating the National Space Transportation System 'Return to Flight'." It bears facsimile signatures of NASA's James C. Fletcher and Stennis Space Center's Jerry Hlass. This mission was the first shuttle flight following the Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986. The crewmembers were John M. Lounge, David C. Hilmers, George D. Nelson, Frederick H. Hauck, and Richard O. Covey. Arthur J. Rogers was the director of NASA Center Operations at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi and instrumental in the testing of the Shuttle engines. Excellent.
