Description
Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-7) Crew-Signed Launch Cover [with] Color Photo. A commemorative cover featuring an early triangular Space Shuttle insignia cachet, postmarked at Kennedy Space Center on June 18, 1983, the launch date of STS-7, the historic first flight of astronaut Sally Ride, America's first woman in space. The cover bears three stamps: a 4¢ U.S. "Stagecoach," a 5 pfennig German "Communications Satellite," and a 20¢ U.S. "Intrepid Balloon" issue. Signed in black felt tips: "Bob Crippen", "Rick Hauck", "John Fabian", "Sally K Ride", and "Norm Thagard". Included, for purposes of display or matting, is a glossy 10" x 8" color print of the crew in blue flight suits. The first STS-7 signed cover Heritage has offered. Evidence of label removal affecting nothing. Excellent. From the Family Collection of Jacques BrackeAuction Info
