Apollo 12 Crew-Signed U.S. Navy Recovery Force Cover from the U.S.S. Hornet [with] Color Photo. A philatelic cover with a stamped Recovery Force cachet bearing a 6¢ "Apollo 8" stamp, hand-canceled on November 24, 1969, aboard the actual recovery ship. Signed in black felt tips: "Charles Conrad Jr", "Dick Gordon", and "Alan L Bean". Included, for purposes of display or matting, is a glossy 10" x 8" color print of the crew floating in the Pacific Ocean waiting to board the helicopter for their trip to the Hornet. Excellent.Apollo 12 was notable as the first mission to achieve a pinpoint landing on the lunar surface, touching down within walking distance of the Surveyor 3 spacecraft. Conrad and Bean spent over 7 hours on the lunar surface while Gordon orbited above.
