First flight of Challenger

Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-6) Flown American Flag and Patch on Presentation Certificate, in Framed Display. A 5.75" x 4.25" U.S. cloth flag and a 4.75" x 4" three-sided embroidered "TDRSS NASA Communications for Space" patch are both mounted to an 8" x 10.25" (sight size) printed certificate with a facsimile signature of Administrator James M. Beggs. The printed text reads: "This Flag and Patch were flown aboard the maiden flight of the Space Shuttle, Challenger (STS-6), April 4-9, 1983, which deployed the first Tracking and Data Relay Satellite, TDRS-1" and "Presented to [blank] in recognition of your support to the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System."
