Description

Salyut-6 / Soyuz-T4 Combination Presentation Model. A finely detailed Soviet presentation model depicting the Salyut-6 orbital station with a docked Soyuz-T4 series spacecraft, produced to commemorate the joint Soyuz-T4 / Soyuz-40 mission of May 1981, the final crewed operation of the Salyut-6 program. Measuring an overall 29.5" x 5" x 7" including wooden base, the model features the familiar cylindrical Salyut configuration in cream and green livery with rectangular solar arrays, together with a single green Soyuz-T spacecraft attached to the forward port. Although only one Soyuz vehicle is physically represented on the model, the base inscription commemorates the historic dual-docking period when both craft were attached to Salyut-6, symbolizing the station's final active mission and the closing of the Interkosmos cooperative program. Comprised of metal and acrylic this is an outstanding display piece and incredibly rare. Very fine.
