Description
Salyut-6 / Soyuz-T4 Combination Presentation Model. A finely detailed Soviet presentation model depicting the Salyut-6 orbital station with a docked Soyuz-T4 series spacecraft, produced to commemorate the joint Soyuz-T4 / Soyuz-40 mission of May 1981, the final crewed operation of the Salyut-6 program. Measuring an overall 29.5" x 5" x 7" including wooden base, the model features the familiar cylindrical Salyut configuration in cream and green livery with rectangular solar arrays, together with a single green Soyuz-T spacecraft attached to the forward port. Although only one Soyuz vehicle is physically represented on the model, the base inscription commemorates the historic dual-docking period when both craft were attached to Salyut-6, symbolizing the station's final active mission and the closing of the Interkosmos cooperative program. Comprised of metal and acrylic this is an outstanding display piece and incredibly rare. Very fine.Auction Info
