Description

X-15: Original Glossy B&W Photograph of Neil Armstrong in the Cockpit of an X-15 April, 1962, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. 5" x 8" overall; view area 4.75" x 4.5". A particularly excellent view of Neil in complete flight gear in the cockpit of the X-15. Normally Neil has a broad grin on his face when he's in the X-15 but this image catches him with a rather more serious look. He flew the X-15 seven times as a NASA test pilot between November 30, 1960, and July 26, 1962, one of only twelve to fly this highly-advanced craft. Very fine. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1000269-025. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
