Description
A very special relic from the Michael Collins collection
Apollo 11 Flown and Crew-Signed Beta Cloth Mission Insignia
Directly from the Personal Collection of Michael Collins, Signed
and Certified, CAG Certified and Encapsulated. A 6" x 6" swatch
of Beta cloth with a 3.375" diameter mission insignia depicting an
eagle carrying an olive branch to the moon with the Earth in the
distance, designed by Michael Collins. This was flown aboard the
Apollo 11 mission to the moon and later signed beautifully in black
felt tip: "Neil Armstrong", "Carried to the Moon aboard
Apollo XI/ July 1969/ Michael Collins", and "Buzz
Aldrin". Beta cloth is made from fire-safe Fiberglass Beta
yarns, originated and developed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas
Corporation. It was used in the space suits worn by the Apollo
astronauts. A very desirable lunar-flown and crew-signed relic from
this historic mission, an ultimate item for display. CAG
