Cape Kennedy Renaming Event Cover signed by Six Russian Cosmonauts with Zarelli COA. A philatelic cover with pictorial cachet and signed by six legendary cosmonauts. Signed in various inks in Cyrillic by the following: Yuri A. Gagarin, First human in space; Pavel Popovich; Valentina Tereshkova, First woman in space, Vostok 6; Andriyan Nikolayev; Valery Bykovsky; and Gherman Titov. Canceled at Kennedy Space Center on September 29, 1967. This cover juxtaposes the two rival powers of the Space Race, the U.S. (Cape Kennedy) and the U.S.S.R. (the six signers), symbolizing both competition and shared human achievement in space exploration. Included is an LOA from Steve Zarelli, overall fine.Auction Info
