Description
Apollo 15 Crew-Signed Splashdown Cover, Directly from the Personal Collection of Michael Collins, CAG Certified. A philatelic cover bearing a pictorial machine cancellation from Kennedy Space Center dated August 7, 1971. The color cachet features the mission insignia, an astronaut pin, and Air Force wings (for the all-Air Force crew) with crew signatures around in black felt tip: "Dave Scott", "Al Worden", and "Jim Irwin".Accompanying the cover is an additional COA in Michael Collins' hand on a 5" x 3" lined card: "I hereby certify that this/ commemorative cover was/ signed by the Apollo 15 crew/ and given to me in 1971./ It has been in my possession/ ever since./ Michael Collins Apollo XI CMP". Sealed in a numbered archival holder, CAG3000047-009. Very fine.Auction Info
