Description
General George Meade and Members of His Staff. Measuring 19.25" x 15.5", this large albumen features Union General George G. Meade sitting at a table surrounded by four members of his staff. Only three of the men are identified on the mount below their respective images. From left to right are Bvt. Brig. Gen. R.N. Batchelder, Bvt. Brig. Gen. E.L. Campbell, and Bvt. Brig. Gen. S.F. Barston. The young man standing behind Meade and to his right is identified in a small pencil notation on the verso of the original mount, near the upper edge: "Second from left: George Meade, Jr. Photo taken possibly on occasion of Regular Army promotions, August 1864."
