Description
James Longstreet Signed Militia Appointment. Single partly printed sheet, 15.25" x 11"; City of New Orleans; July 18, 1871. Longstreet signs a Adjutant General appointing D. A. Blanchard to the rank of Captain in the Louisiana State Militia, Co. "A", 5th Regiment Infantry.Condition: Blue seal is present, but exhibiting wear and chipping to edges. Toned, with traces of tape at edges. Flattened folds, and ink ghosting. Matted and framed to an overall size of 21.5" x 17".
