Description

Group of Four High Domed Brass Buttons. Two coat and two cuff size, accompanied by an absolutely authentic and period ink script note, "Buttons from the cadets at Chapultepec Mexico City". The buttons bear the logo "Escuela Militar / Mexico" around the edge of the face, with the circular center section plain. Maker's mark on the back of each "T. W. & W. Paris" with the two coat size buttons also marked "H. M." on either side of the brass shank. All buttons in perfect untouched condition with no pushes or bent/ broken shanks. Castle Chapultepec was, in essence the West Point of Mexico and was captured by American troops, after fierce fighting, on September 13, 1847. Only examples we've seen
