Pair U.S. Model 1842 .54 Caliber Percussion Pistols, H. Aston, 1851 A true pair in identical condition with identical markings. Both marked "US H. Aston & Co" and "Middtn Conn 1851" on the lock plates, 1851 tang dates, "US/WM/P" breech proofs and deep clear inspectors cartouches. Tight crisp actions. All iron is smooth and gray mixed with minor dark staining, no rust or pitting. Brass fittings excellent with a few minor scattered bruises. Wood displays sharp edges an old untouched patina and a few handling dents. Exceptionally nice pair of pistols that appear to have been issued together.Auction Info
