The group includes the following: six strips of Civil War period matches in the original tissue wrapper; period sewing kit/soldier's housewife with original brass thimble; small three section brass telescope, 5 1/2" when fully opened, excellent optics; period wooden handle shaving brush; complete deck of 52 Civil War period playing cards; period "Torrey's No. 40 Razor Strop" with small tin drawer for storing straight razor; heavy brass, period button polishing 'board'. a tin of "The Boss Water-Proof Blacking" for leather; brass candle holder with iron spike for use in camp; the spoon and fork portion of a Richard's Patent utensil set; combination folding knife fork and spoon formatted like a clasp knife and marked on the knife blade "Ulster Knife Co. / Ellenville, N. Y."; classic period rosewood 'traveling' ink well with spring loaded brass ink bottle and deeply carved on the bottom in block letters "A. Kidd"; classic Civil War period collapsible pewter drinking cup in the original japanned tin container; very scarce Niles Patent collapsible drinking cup in perfect condition; large twist or 'plug' of tobacco from the period. All pieces in excellent condition or better and a really comprehensive grouping.
