[World War I]. English Generals Horatio Kitchener Autograph Letter Signed and Douglas Haig Signed Photograph. Includes:

Horatio Kitchener Autograph Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 4" x 9.25", Broome Park, Canterbury; August 22, [1912]. Kitchener writes to "Colonel Ward," saying that, "I am very pleased to accept the Honorary Presidency of the R.E. Old Comrades Association and hope they will have many pleasant meetings." Signed, "Yours sincerely, Kitchener." Born in Ireland, Kitchener played pivotal roles in the British imperial campaigns, the Second Boer War, and World War I, where he served as Secretary of State for War.

Douglas Haig Signed Photo Postcard. One black-and-white photograph, 3" x 5", no place; October 21, 1919. Signed, "D. Haig." During World War I, Haig commanded the British Expeditionary Force and fought in key battles such as the Somme, Arras, and the Hundred Days Offensive.

Condition: Letter creased at folds with minor toning and slight staining. Photo postcard has slightly bumped corners and toning on verso.
