Description

George Walton Document Signed as Chief Justice of Georgia. One page, 7.75" x 12.5", Richmond County, Georgia; September 30, 1784. A petition brought by plaintiffs James Rae and Samuel Elbert against Robert Bonner for non-payment of damages in the amount of one hundred and seventy four pounds and "requiring the said Robert personally or by his attorney to be and appear before the Justices of the Superior Court to be held in and for the County of Richmond on the fourth Tuesday in October next..." Walton signs, "Let process issue, Geo Walton." Window mounted to the overall size of 8.25" x 13.25".

Condition: Light age toning and flattened folds. A bit of paper has been added along the top horizontal fold at right, not affecting any text. Pencil annotation at top on the mount, and at lower left on the document. A few restorations done at an earlier time to reinforce small separations at the folds at margins.
