Description

Albert Einstein Typed Letter Signed. One page, 8.5" x 11", Princeton, New Jersey; December 31, 1949. The letter is addressed to a Frank Groom Kirtz on Einstein's personalized embossed stationery. In it he shares information about the arrangement he has with his publishing firm. It reads in full: "As far as I know the PHILOSPHICAL LIBRARY is a legitimate publishing firm. My agreement with it is on a royalty basis." Signed, "A. Einstein." The Philosophical Library was founded in 1941 by Dagobert Runes to publish the works of European academics affected by the racial and religious discrimination of the 1930s. It is still active today.

Condition: Rust stain from a paper clip present in upper left corner. Smoothed mail folds. Envelope is lightly toned.
