[Hawaiiana]. Papers of the Hawaiian Historical Society, No. 1-3. The first three issues of the Papers of the Hawaiian Historical Society, published in Honolulu in 1892. Each with original printed paper wrappers, several pages unopened; issue no. 3 disbound. Includes:

No. 1. 10 pages, 6 x 8 3/4 inches. Contains an essay by William D. Alexander, titled "The Relations Between the Hawaiian Islands and Spanish America in Early Times."

No. 2. 27, [1] pages; 6 1/4 x 9 3/4 inches. Contains two essays. The first, by J. S. Emerson, the vice president of the society, titled, "The Lesser Hawaiian Gods." The second, by Curtis J. Lyons, titled, "Traces of Spanish Influence in the Hawaiian Islands."

No. 3. 18 pages, 6 1/4 x 10 inches. Contains an essay by Sanford B. Dole, titled "Evolution of Hawaiian Land Tenures."

Condition: Issue 3 disbound. Scattered staining and wear to the covers; edges of all issues exhibit chipping and some short tears, not affecting text. Inner pages remain legible and bright. Small pencil annotations at the top left edge of each issue.
