John Henry Brown (1820-1895) was a Texas journalist, Confederate officer, and politician who notably served as mayor of Dallas from 1885 to 1887. In the final decade of his life, he turned to historical writing, producing several works, most notably his History of Texas, which became a recognized standard in the field.

Condition: Minor edgewear to pages. Text blocks lightly toned.
