Description
Pierre-Auguste Renoir Signed Photographic Print. 6" x 10.75" (sight), black and white print reproduction of Renoir's "Girl with a Dog" circa 1875, signed "Renoir" in the bottom margin. Below Renoir's signature is a certification stating that "Pierre Auguste Renoir artiste-peintre" signed this note, Cagnes, January 11, 1908. The seal of Cagnes, Alpes Maritimes, is to the lower left of the Mayor's signature. Mounted and framed to an overall size of 13.25" x 18".Renoir had moved to Cagnes-sur-mer, France in 1908, after buying the estate of Les Collettes. He painted at this estate for the last ten years of his life, despite suffering increasingly from arthritis. The views from his new home, with a rolling countryside and colorful orange and olive tree groves, greatly influenced his later works.
Condition: Lightly toned, else good condition.
