8vo. Illustrated by Ross Santee. Original red pictorial cloth, stamped in black; cloth slipcase.

FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper: "Yes sir, Mr. J. C. Dykes, Them Was the Days!! / Owen P. White / Cutchogue, N.Y. / Jany 11-1943." ADDITIONALLY INSCRIBED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR, ROSS SANTEE, WITH THREE SMALL DRAWINGS (including one in color), first on the title-page: "For JC. Dykes / Ross Santee," below which he has drawn a Western town scene in ink; with an additional note on the illustrations inscribed to the recipient at the foot of the illustration list leaf; and with another original drawing opposite with a similar scene in ink and colored pencil, and another ink sketch on the half-title.

Condition: A little wear to spine ends and corners; front hinge cracked; rear hinge tender.
