First edition: first impression, first issue, first state, without the disclaimer on the dedication page verso and with other text points, as called for. Signed by Bond Girl Shirley Eaton to the title page, better known as Jill Masterson or the iconic "The Golden Girl" of the 1964 film adaptation. Octavo. 318 pages. Illustrated with a map on page [246]. Publisher's pictorial black Fabroleen cloth stamped in blind and gilt, with the 3mm line detail to top of skull as called for in the first state binding, spine stamped in gilt; original illustrated dust jacket by Richard Chopping, restored. Corners just bumped, foot of spine pushed. Cream endpapers; minor scattered soiling to the rear endpapers, small ink stamp, bookseller's ticker, and penciled bookseller's notations (some effaced) to the front endpapers. Internally clean and tight, text block edges toned with minor wear and few scattered stains not extending into the text block. Dust jacket with publisher's decorative clip and price-clipped; restorations to edges and corners, light dampstaining on verso of the front panel. Near fine book with very good dust jacket.

Publisher's black Excelin cloth, spine stamped in bronze-gold; original illustrated dust jacket designed by Richard Chopping. Foot of spine just pushed. Green patterned endpapers. Internally clean and tight; text block edges lightly foxed with minor wear. Dust jacket with the publisher's decorative clip and priced 18s net; minor edgewear, creased along folds, minor scattered foxing, small abrasion to the spine. Near fine book with near fine dust jacket.
