Publisher's pale-yellow cloth, spine lettered in black; original illustrated dust jacket. Minor edgewear, head and foot of spine pushed. Tan endpapers; small penciled bookseller's notation to the front free endpaper recto. Internally clean and tight; a few minor spots of foxing to the edges, top edge darkened. Dust jacket unclipped (8s 6d); moderate edgewear, chipping to head and foot of spine, corners, and edges with some losses, spine and back panel sunned, scattered foxing, 5.5-inch closed tear extending from the top of the spine panel across the front panel, wear reinforced on verso with paper tape. Very good book with good dust jacket.

Miller notes, "The Lily Library owns a copy in pale yellow cloth binding, designated on their catalog card as "first issue" binding by an unidentified authority."
