New York: The Alcestis Press, 1936. 8vo, original gilt-lettered brick cloth; plain dust jacket. FIRST EDITION, limited to 165 copies SIGNED BY THE POET, this copy out-of-series (unnumbered). Dust jacket a bit soiled with some chips and closed tears, otherwise a fine copy. Provenance: Walter Campbell (signature on front free endpaper). - Tate. Poems. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1960. 8vo, original blue cloth; dust jacket. FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE POET on the front free endpaper: "Inscribed for / William Strutz / with best wishes, / Allen Tate." Minor fading to cloth; dust jacket price-clipped, and with some chipping at ends of spine panel. - Tate. The Swimmers and Other Selected Poems. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, [1970]. 8vo, original green cloth; dust jacket (unclipped). FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE POET TO EDITOR WILLIAM TARG on the title: "Inscribed to William Targ / with best wishes. / Allen Tate / April 3, 1971." Fine. - Accompanied by a humorous typed postcard signed from Tate to Targ, 11 October 1975, requesting he send him a copy of his book to sign for him ("My copy was stolen some months ago. Do you know where I could buy one?").
