8vo. Publisher's brown cloth, spine and front board stamped in gilt; original dust jacket.

FIRST TRADE EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR WITH SIX LINES OF VERSE, THE FINAL STANZA OF "RELUCTANCE" (included in the present work), on the frontispiece verso: "Ah when to the heart of man / Was it ever less than a treason / To go with the drift of things / To yield with a grace to reason / And bow and accept the end / Of a love or a season / Robert Frost / For Milton J. Lesser / July 1931."

Condition: Slight touch of edgewear to cloth; front hinge cracked before frontispiece. Dust jacket defective with most of spine panel detached, some chipping and edgewear, some tape repairs on verso along folds.
