FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY DU MAURIER on the front free endpaper: "Ernest Crompton / with best wishes / yours sincerely / Daphne du Maurier." Like Rebecca, du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel blends mystery and romance in a complex plot set on a Cornish estate. The novel was adapted into films in 1952 and 2017, starring Richard Burton and Olivia de Havilland, and Rachel Weisz and Sam Claflin, respectively.

Condition: Very light rubbing to extremities; slight pale stain on upper cover. Dust jacket unclipped (priced "12/6 net"), with very minor wear to head of spine panel and extremities; front panel with vertical crease; very slight soiling.
