Description

Fine Victorian Beaded Silk Bag with Patriotic Eagle and Date of 1837. Elaborately decorated on both sides using tiny beads, approximately 40 per inch. It is all but impossible to envision the craftsmanship required to sew them in place. The fringe at the bottom consists of braided strands of tiny black beads, with gold beads as trim at the bottom. Double sided, with eagle on front and floral motif on the back. Tiny gold colored beads are used as accents to form the stars around the eagle's head, and to spell out "Anna N. Whitemore " and "A.N.W. to K. D. Vinthor" and "1837" on the back. Absolutely pristine condition and beautifully custom framed and double sided, 16" x 20".
