Description
Old Capitol Prison Washington, D.C. : Albumen Photograph. 7" x 9 3/4" albumen of the Old Capitol Prison in Southwest Washington, DC. On the verso of the albumen it reads in pencil "Interior of Court Yard Old Capitol Prison". Image show dozens of soldiers, several of which are likely guards. On July 7, 1865 the conspirators who were part of the Lincoln assassination were hanged at the Old Prison.Condition: Tipped to a board at the top, minor wrinkling, else a fine image.
