Description
John F. Kennedy: Signatures for Senate Christmas Cards. Three signatures signed by then-senator Kennedy to be used as templates for facsimile printing on the 1958 Christmas cards, two of which are on United States Senate letterhead. Signed, "Warmest regards / Jack" with additional notes that read "Warmest regards / Warmest regard." Accompanied by a later unsigned 1959 Christmas card and a letter of provenance from Kennedy's personal secretary, Evelyn Lincoln.Lincoln writes, in part, "One Christmas when John F. Kennedy was in the United States Senate he and Mrs. Kennedy decided to send a family scene on their Christmas cards. This is the card they selected. They also decided to have a 'Warmest regards Jack' on each card... The following signatures were made by Kennedy as he practiced to make the original signature, for facsimile." Slips of paper with the signatures measure 2" x 5" to 5.25" x 5.75".
Condition: Note is toned with an indentation and stain from a paperclip along the top margin.
