John F. Kennedy: Ultra Rare New Jersey Labor-Related Button. Exceptional 3.5" button featuring a smiling portrait of J.F.K., inscribed "Essex County C.O.P.E. Vote For [Kennedy] AFL". Issued by the Committee on Political Education of the American Federation of Labor. Mint condition. A supreme rarity, missing from nearly all Kennedy specialist collections, including the extensive holdings of the late Bonnie Gardner. We are aware of one other example that was purchased decades ago from a Bloomfield [Essex County], New Jersey antique shop, then quickly resold to dealer Tom Slater after which it dropped from sight. At this late date, it is extremely unlikely that additional examples will surface.Condition: Excellent.
