Description
Bell & Everett: Jugate Ribbon. Sullivan & Fischer list only seven ribbon varieties for the "Union and Constitution" candidate and all are rare. This jugate design is listed as JB-2 and bears a portrait of both John Bell and Edward Everett with the title "The Union and the Constitution" at the top. Measuring at 2" x 6 5/8", the ribbon is affixed to a paper backing. Some dampstaining is present at the bottom half, with some wrinkling at the top and bottom. A small ink spot at top of the edge may be as made. In overall good condition, the ribbon's portraits and text are still bold and dark against the pale blue silk. No minimum bid.
