Description

Nez Perce Spontoon Tomahawk, c. 1900. The head, measuring 8-1/2" x 2-1/2", is hand forged with small fleur-de-lis styled hooks at the base. The 21" wood haft has four areas of pewter inlay. Patinated brass tacks in the haft's top hold the head in tight. This rare example is in excellent condition with only typical handling wear. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
