Description
[Millard Fillmore] Eye-Popping Reverse-on-Glass Tinsel Know Nothing Sign. 16" x 14.5" hand-carved wooden sign with raised floral cornices and an inner oval of thirty-one stars. The central glass panel [11" x 9.5" sight] is a combination of tinsel/foil work and reverse painting. Design elements include a gold star, oak wreath, a golden eagle, shield, and draped flags. The eagle holds a riband in its beak reading "God and Our Native Land." It is titled "None But Americans To Rule America." Normal aging to the frame, adding the requisite "character" to this evocative item.Condition: The glass panel is totally intact with no cracks and minor loss. Frame has wear. A premier piece of folk art Political Americana, never before seen!
