Description
Abraham Lincoln: Large Size 1862 Pictorial Checkerboard. 15" x 15" checkerboard that is composed of two large albumens, each one facing a different player. The white squares have portraits of Union commanders as well as President Lincoln. It was patented on September 23rd 1862 (Hill's Patent) and comes in two sizes, this being the largest. The boards are covered in green cloth and there are two lines of gold-stamped decoration around the interior border. Partial separation at spine with some stains to the cloth exterior with bumped corners. The albumens are in excellent condition overall with nominal wear. A great display piece.Auction Info
