Henry Clay: Classic, Colorful Cigar Case from the 1844 Election. One of the few such items from this era which was definitely produced for campaign purposes, it identifies Clay as the "Candidad [sic] for 1844." Below his portrait is a great little ditty:"Come every Whig, your influence bring
On this eventful day,
And make the Western valleys ring
With shouts for Henry Clay."
Typical fine surface crazing detracts minimally, otherwise excellent condition.
