printing, in the original first state color pictorial dust jacket,
completely unrestored. Octavo. [vi], 401, [1, blank] pages.
Publisher's black, white, and gray paper covered boards, white
cloth spine stamped in black, top edges stained blue-gray,
endpapers matching cover design. First state dust jacket, with
Humanity Uprooted priced at $3.00, and featuring an
adaptation of the Käthe Kollwitz theme, "Woman and Death."Petersen notes, "Faulkner often called this his favorite work because its composition had caused him the greatest agony."
Condition: Head and tail of spine a bit pushed, corners bumped and some edgewear. Approximate 2-inch split to front hinge, but holding. Internally clean and bright. Original and unrestored color pictorial dust jacket; spine a bit sunned with some scuffing, chipping to spine panel with minor losses, overall a bit toned with scattered scuffs and minor wear. An unusually bright dust jacket, rarely found unrestored in this condition. Housed in a linen chemise and quarter brown morocco slipcase, spine lettered and decorated in gilt. Very good book in a near fine, unrestored dust jacket.
