Mercury Seven Astronauts Color Photo Signed. A 10" x 8" color lithographed photo of the first seven astronauts picked by NASA standing in front of an F-106B jet, signed "Scott Carpenter, "Gordon Cooper" (1927-2004), "J H Glenn Jr", "Gus Grissom" (1926-1967) (autopen), "W Schirra Jr" (1923-2007), "Alan B Shepard Jr" (1923-1998), and "D K Slayton" (1924-1993). All signatures are authentic except the autopen Gus Grissom. Gordon has inscribed at the top, "Best wishes to Ed". A wonderful memento of the original "Right Stuff" team obtained by a McDonnell employee at Cape Canaveral during the 1960s. Good condition with generalized dampstaining.

Also included in this lot is a: Space Shuttle Program memorabilia collection including crew photos, mission insignia, patches, and booster recovery covers. Collected by an employee of United Technologies Corporation, a NASA contractor that manufactured much of the solid rocket booster used in the Shuttle missions, is an archive of material collected through the early years of the program. All of the first twelve shuttle missions (STS-1 through STS-41D) are represented well with various crew photos, embroidered patches, stickers, a medallion, and other collectibles, covering the first flights of Columbia, Challenger, and Discovery. There are fifteen additional later launch packages with photos, patches, stickers, etc. An interesting and historical collection. All very fine or better condition.
