Western Penitentiary Inscribed Colt Police Positive Double Action Revolver.

Serial no. 77417, .38 caliber, 4-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Right side of frame inscribed: NO. 91 / WESTERN / PENITENTIARY. Checkered factory hard rubber grip panels. Included is a photocopy of the original Colt letter confirming configuration including "Factory Engraved" Western Penitentiary No. 91 (on frame) and shipped to W.S. Brown in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on July 29, 1914 in a "Ten" gun shipment.

Condition: Very good as refinished. Overall showing light handling wear and very fine patches of pitting. Scattered scratches present to grips. Action crisp. Bright bore. From the Estate of Robert (Bobby) Palazzo, Westlake Village, CA.
