Description
Ulysses S. Grant: Assorted Cabinet Cards, Cartes de Visite, and a Portrait on Silk.(1) The three cabinet cards range in size from approximately 4.25" x 6.375" to 4.25" x 6.5" and feature two portraits of Grant and one of the general and his family at "Mt. McGregor, N.Y.," dated June 19, 1885. (2) The CDVs span from portraits of Grant and his family to stately bust portraits. Of the seven images, sizes range from 2.375" x 3.75" to 2.5" x 4". (3) A silk square bearing Grant's portrait and a facsimile signature at the bottom is mounted to a paper board. It measures a nice 4.5" x 5.625".
Condition: The cabinet cards and cartes de visite have varying amounts of toning, light scratching, and soiling. The silk square has paper remnants at the edges where adhesive residue is present, and some loose threads can be seen at the top and bottom. Overall, these are in great condition and perfect for display.
