[Civil War Era]. Watercolor Portrait of Union Soldier, Orrin B. Stevens.
Large watercolor portrait of a Union soldier. Framed and matted to
an overall 22"x 26". Not examined outside of frame. Amateur
hand-retouching to some portions of the face and hair. Stevens was
mustered into the H. Co. of the Maine 5th Infantry on June 6, 1861.
He was wounded in Chancellorsville, Virginia, in May 1863 and died
shortly after. Two printouts with details of Stevens' service
record are affixed to the back of the frame.
Condition: Minor dampstaining to edges; a few small abrasions to image; frame somewhat worn.
