Description
Very Clean WWII Lithgow 1943 S.M.L.E. Mark III* Enfield Bolt Action Rifle.Serial no. 46841e, .303 caliber, 24 ½-inch barrel with adjustable rear and fixed front sights. Blued finish.
Right side of butt socket marked "MA / LITHGOW / S.M.L.E. / III* / 1943". Small, unobtrusive import marks on the right side of the receiver. Matching serial numbers on the bolt, muzzle cap and stock. Right butt stamped "MA / Lithgow / S.M.L.E. / III* HV / 1943". Brass butt plate with butt trap for cleaning kit. No. 4 stamped magazine, the follower stamped "3 / MA". Individual components with Lithgow proofs. Original 1943 dated web sling. A very nice example.
Condition: Near excellent. Light wear to finish, stock with mainly storage dings; a 4 ½-inch scratch on the left side of the butt. Bright bore.
