Inspector Gerald W. Hildebrand retired from the Department of Public Safety in 2004 after 26 years of service, finishing as a captain on the Director's Staff. He oversaw program inspections for the Texas Rangers and state crime labs, providing critical analysis and recommendations to the DPS Commission. A certified FBI psychological profiler, he was an expert in criminal investigations, crime scene analysis, interrogation, and threat assessment. Hildebrand began his career with the Texarkana Police Department before joining the DPS in 1977, later serving in the Highway Patrol and becoming a Texas Ranger in 1987. From 1991 to 1995, he led the Governor Protective Detail for Governors Ann Richards and George W. Bush.

Condition: Moderate wear overall with expected scuffs and creases from everyday use.
