Spanish-American War: Group of Five Medals and Badges Identified to Lt. E. S. Heller, California Volunteer Infantry.

Includes: 1) California veterans' medal, bronze, 38 mm in diameter, pinback with bronze pendant captioned CALIFORNIA and numbered on the reverse 4961. The consignor's research identifies the medal to E. S. Heller. 2) National Guard of California Marksman ladder badge, 28 mm in diameter planchet engraved on the reverse "LIEUT. E. S. HELLER / I.R.P. 5TH INF. REG. / N.G.C." and numbered 978. The reverse of the pendant is marked Sterling and maker marked Shreve. The are two sharpshooter clasps and two rifleman clasps. 3) United National Spanish-American War veteran medal, bronze, 32 x 32 mm, pinback. 4) 8th Corp Badge, 26 x 51 mm overall, gilt, marked Shreve & Co., engraved on the reverse "U.S.A. / 8TH Army Corps / Capt. E. S. Heller / 8th Cal. U. S. V. Inf. / Comidg. Co. "C" / 1898". The badge is suspended via a complimentary pendant in the form of a Captain's shoulder rank strap. 5) A small button hole size 8th Corps badge, 7 x 11 mm. in the same form as the preceding.
