Description

Civil War: Five State of Ohio Named Veterans' Medals.

All examples have identical bronze planchets 37 mm in diameter designed and made by Tiffany & Co., New York. Three examples have similar pendants which was likely the design as issued but two examples have pendants in the form of Corps badges. Each example has the name of the recipient engraved on the reverse. The names include Jackson McKenney 12th Ohio Volunteers (this example accompanied with a 31 mm, pinback VIII Corps, 12th Regiment Corps badge); Phlp. S. Tilton, Co I, 76th Regt. Ohio Volunteer Infantry; Wm. Stough, Co. G, 15th Regiment Infantry; Thos. Rees, Co. G 36th Regt, Infantry, with a German-silver Army of the Cumberland Corps badge pendant; and Thos. Gibson, 3rd Ind. Bat. Ohio Vol. Infantry with a German-silver XVII Corps badge pendant.

Condition: All examples in generally very good or better condition.
