Description
Civil War: West Virginia Honorably Discharged Medal and Large Department of West Virginia Velvet Corps Badge.Includes: 1) West Virginia Honorably Discharged medal, bronze, 37 mm, stamped on the rim SAML McVEY 1ST LIEUT 2ND REG CAV VOLS. McVey enlisted as a sergeant on November 1, 1861 and mustered into "L" Company of the West Virginia 2nd Cavalry. He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant on November 26, 1864. 2) Department of West Virginia Corps badge, red/maroon velvet, 2 ¼ x 2 ½-inches with black felt backing.
Condition: 1) Excellent. 2) Some fading and light wear, otherwise very good.
