Description

French Model 1831 Artillery Short Sword.

19 1/4-inch wide, smooth blade maker marked Coulaux. Various property or regimental markings on the cross guard and scabbard throat. Leather scabbard with brass throat and tip.

Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 60-75% gilding on the hilt; blade with a smooth dark patina and some light rust pits near the tip. Scabbard leather a bit dry but still sound.
