Description
German WWI Spandau 1916 Gewehr 98 Bolt Action Rifle.Serial no. 4606u, 7.92x57 caliber, 29 ½-inch barrel with roller coaster rear sight and fixed front sight. Blued finish (looks like an old re-blue job) with bolt in the white. All serial numbers matching including the bolt, receiver, barrel, barrel bands, follower, floor plate, trigger guard, trigger guard screws, butt plate and stock. Left side of receiver serial numbered and marked "Gew. 98.". Top of receiver marked with crown and "Spandau / 1916".
Condition: Very good as refinished. Wear to finish especially on the barrel bands. Broken off set screws on the trigger guard. Stock has been lightly sanded and varnished. Stock has light to moderate scratches, dings, dents. Crack on the underside of the stock extending from the rear barrel band, with an old repair on the right side. Bright bore.
