U.S. E.G. Lamson & Co. Bolt Action Rifle.

Unserialized, .50 caliber, 20-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Lock marked: U.S. / E.G. LAMSON / WINDSOR VT. and 1865. Receiver stamped: WM. PALMER / PATENT / DEC. 22, 1863. Smooth walnut straight stock with sling eye. Metal carbine buttplate. According to Flayderman, it is assumed that about 1,000 were purchased and delivered to the US government.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered areas of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Pitted bore. From the Collection of Dr. Phillip R. Rutherford
